CCL Training: Leading Your Lobby Team

This training is designed for those who wish to learn more about leading a lobby meeting with a member of Congress or staff. In this training, we'll review the role of a lobby team leader, how they assign team roles, coordinate practice times and how to handle other special situations. This training is Part IV in the “Working With Congress” training series, designed to help our more experienced volunteers and citizen lobbyists get ready for our June lobbying meetings.

CCL Training: Mining Your Chapter Roster

Join Elli Sparks, CCL's Field Development Director, for a training that will highlight new ways of engaging your chapter roster to build a thriving local chapter filled with engaged volunteers focused on roles and tasks they love. Elli will review new resources to help our chapters like a template for a virtual signup sheet (3rd bullet) and an organizational chart Jamboard to identify volunteer opportunities within your chapter. Elli will also review how to build a leadership team, determine which roles you would like to fill in your chapter next, and access the Volunteer Opportunities Emails for template emails you can send to your chapter roster to recruit for those positions.

Since the Russian invasion of Ukraine we’ve all seen the calls to “drill, drill, drill”, and the President and some members of Congress pushing back on that with a clean energy agenda. CCL Training: Campaign Season Activities

Join CCL's National Action Director Todd Elvins for a training that will review CCL's recently updated advice on campaign season activities this midterm election year. One of our goals is to make sure climate action is taken to reach the science-based target of reducing our emissions by 50% below 2005 levels in 2030. We also want to encourage emerging candidates to generally support strong bipartisan national carbon pricing legislation and continue building local community support for meaningful climate action.

CCL Training: Engaging Community Leaders to Champion their Support to Congress

As Congress continues to negotiate the budget reconciliation package into 2022, making sure that strong climate legislation, including a price on carbon remains our highest priority. Since local leaders have extra clout with members of Congress, join CCL Action and Endorsement Coordinator Sabrina Butcher for a training that will walk through how to ask your community leaders (endorsers and non-endorsers) to personally call their members of Congress and identify themselves as a community leader when they call. Local elected officials, business executives and faith leaders can be especially persuasive.
