Demonstrating to Congress that business and community leaders support our policy is critical. In the words of CCL's Senior Liaison Jay Butera, "Bringing in endorsers with me was a game changer in our relationship with Congressman Curbelo’s office, and played a big role in gaining his signature on the Republican Climate Resolution.”

Led by CCL Effective Communication Action Lead Dave Folland, this webinar draws upon the tools and techniques of motivational interviewing and walks through best practices in how to engage in reflective listening, open-ended questions, and the art of engaging in discussions that are effective collaborations. CCL's Volunteer Education Coordinator Brett Cease also highlights key takeaways from climate communications research groups like ecoAmerica, the IPCC, and Yale Project on Climate Communications in finding common ground along with helping walk through some communications exercises for small groups.

Explaining the Science of Climate Change features Citizens' Climate Education board member and climate scientist Dr. Sandra Kirtland Turner.
The training features explanations by Dr. Kirtland Turner on the concepts behind climate change: CO2 traps heat, the concentration of CO2 is rising, and human contributions are driving this rise as well as discussing how to communicate the science behind climate change and where to find additional resources.

Originally from the Philippines, Aimee’s passion for climate change is fueled by seeing her homeland suffer the negative impacts of global warming.

4. What solutions/personal actions I'm taking.

Lerman served for 42 years as an economist with the United States Treasury Department and conducted this research to determine how a dividend return to American households could work.
Join Dr. Danny Richter, CCL's Vice President of Government Affairs in exploring the detailed how's and why's of CCL's dividend return. The webinar addresses questions about the carbon fund, distribution framework, and the dividend's taxability. It also tackles distribution challenges like handling changing eligibility and getting dividends to as many American residents as possible with maximum transparency and minimum cost.
